Edvantage group to produce state-of-the-art corporate social responsibility e-learning for Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is at the forefront on setting standards for Corporate Social Responsibility and Code of Conduct, both to help their external clients and to build internal awareness. Now, DNV is setting a new standard by using e-learning to train all employees on policies and procedures.
"It is all about making people aware and getting people to think before acting in certain situations," says Sven Mollekleiv, head of DNV Corporate Relations. "The e-learning solution we are about to build will be case based, with examples that make people reflect over the possible consequences," Mollekleiv concludes.
The solution
The e-learning courses, used in conjunction with workshops, will be based on a set of dilemmas to engage the participants. A manager within DNV will send out an e-mail with a link to one of the dilemmas, but without the answer. The team then meets to discuss the dilemma and the alternative responses. At the same meeting, the employees also look at the other dilemmas. After the workshop each employee gets access to an on-line course that includes more in-depth resources and materials. New dilemmas will be added to the course so that employees get experience in more situations, continuing the focus on corporate social responsibility.
"We had been planning this project for a while when Edvantage group came in with a good solution to our needs," says Einar Venold, Deputy DNV Human Resource director. "We have already started the project and are very satisfied with the work Edvantage group has done so far," continues Venold.
Increased cooperation
"We have delivered similar projects for clients such as SASBraathens," says Thomas Berglund, CEO of Edvantage group. "We see an increasing interest in using e-learning in the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility and Code of Conduct," continues Berglund.
"DNV has been a client since 2003 when we began hosting a corporate wide Health and Safety catalogue of e-learning for them. We appreciate the opportunity to develop e-learning for a new application and look forward to working with them on this project," concludes Berglund.
