Getronics to improve workforce performance with new corporate university from Edvantage group

Oslo, March 30, 2009 - Edvantage group, an e-learning company and Managed Learning Service provider, announces today that Getronics, a leading ICT service-provider, is developing a new virtual learning platform to maximise workforce performance and provide employees with the skills and knowledge they need on-demand. The Getronics Virtual University will be developed, delivered and managed using Edvantage group’s Managed Learning Services.

The new collaborative, web-based environment will enhance traditional classroom training and enable Getronics to deliver the most effective and efficient corporate learning possible. Edvantage group will provide one integrated platform across the company to support 17,000 employees accessing more than 60,000 courses per year in six languages. The integrated environment is expected to lower Getronic’s costs by up to 40%. The platform will be flexible, easy-to-manage and support customised and off-the-shelf content from a range of 3rd party vendors.

Getronics University selected Edvantage group because Managed Learning Services supports their vision of ‘Learn, Meet and Share’ by providing one integrated solution including technology, content and services from a single vendor. By centralising agreements, consolidating platforms and reducing administration time, Getronics will provide more benefits to employees and ultimately to the business

The three year agreement includes:

  • Learning Gateway (Learning Management System)
  • CourseBuilder (content development tool)
  • Hosting and delivery of Getronics bespoke productions
  • Hosting and delivery of 3rd party content including over 1,500  courses from industry leading providers such as, Auralog, ILX Group, Microsoft and Skillsoft
  • Hosting and delivery of e-learning courses included in Getronic’s Microsoft Software Assurance Agreement
  • Data exchange between Learning Gateway and SAP through web services

“Getronics has deep experience in managing corporate wide learning programmes and a clear vision of what they want to achieve with the newly structured Getronics Virtual University.
