This module was the first step into e-learning for Provident Financial. The course was desgined to prepare learners for the 16 e-learning modules that were to follow by explaining the concept of CBT (Computer Based Training) and how to use it.

Background

Provident Financial plc is an international financial services group specialising in home credit through a network of local agents. In 2006 they embarked on a fundamental business transformation programme to create a paperless environment for their 13,000 agents located throughout the UK and Ireland.

Before the e-learning programme explaining the new processes could be rolled out it was vital to introduce the workforce to CBT (Computer Based Training) as they generally had little or no experience of it.


Solution

This module was designed to explain how to use the CBT in simple terms. Edvantage group's development team created the course using CourseBuilder and added a range of interactions. Part of the brief was that the course had tobe compatible with Provident's own LMS (Learning Management System). Using the LMS, Provident have been able to track the usage of the course by employees. The feedback so far has been very positive with users experiencing few problems when moving on to the more complex modules.
